Out With The New...
…In with the old. Switching this blog back over to blogspot, their format is easier and better for what I’m doing. Tumblr has served me well but a change is needed. Keeping on the subject of changes I was recently accepted to the Automotive Refinishing Prep Technician Program at VCC. I’ll be there full time starting in Jan. I’ve been slowly working on tanks on my own...

Classic Thrasher
Pretty psyched on the new issues cover (course won’t be weeks til I see a real copy since I live in the great white north).Kinda reminded me of this TNT shot which was for a shirt they gave out at the SOTY party in 2002. I was living in Los Angeles at the time and 1984 rented a crew of us an RV to make the 8 hour trip up to SF to party and skate. Met Nikki Sixx (as he presented the...

Gentlemen's Club
The mop had been gettin too long to do much with so I swung by The Belmont Barbershop yesterday to remedy the situation. The owner Dustin is not only a master in his craft but also a great conversationalist. He has a true knack for the old school way of doing things and it comes through in his shop and his work. When you’re ready to step your game up-head down and get your shit done up...

Attention To Detail
Max Schaaf owns in every creative aspect he involves himself in. From his unbelievable paint jobs and bike builds (I would literally give my left nut for any of them) to his newly designed pro model on Vans. Made of premium materials including a flame retardant inner outside (closest to the engine) they actually serve more of a purpose than to impress fellow sneakerheads at the latest...

Godspeed
At first sight of the new Alexandra Lier book “Speedseekers” I knew it was gonna be one for the collection. Unfortunately Amazon had it listed with a Feb 2009 release date but I know it was meant for an earlier release. With a little detective work (very little) I found the publisher Gingko Press and called them up. I had a nice chat with one of the fine recepionists there and...

Day Off?
Don’t know exactly when this was because when you only have one day off in 13 everything tends to blur together. Started the day off at Solly’s for a Cinn Raisin Bagel with BYOVCC (Bring Your Own Vegan Cream Cheese). Adam went balls to the wall and got some kind of “Egglet Supreme” bagel and a Cinnamon Bun. All said and done his meal was like 11 bucks. After Bfast we...

…Bummer day yesterday. The only positive thing that happened was when a customer came in and swore to the heavens he thought I was Charlie Watts.

On Repeat
Got the new Anti Hero/Girl Tour DVD last week and have been jammin it non stop. There is 3 different “edits” the Anti Hero One (which looks like it was filmed with a beer can) and the Girl One (which was probably directed by George Lucas) and the Retard one (which is Mike Carrolls drunken recap of the 2 week tour). Great video to make you get off your ass and skate with your friends....

New Book(s) Day
The rents hooked me up with a Chapters gift certificate for my bday so I ordered a couple books I’ve been wanting for a while- Considering I am working for the next 13 days in a row (sweet!) I should have them both finished in no time.

This week in BBerry Round 2
I am horrible at getting pics off my phone. This is my brother (who came and visited me in July) expressing his distaste for public breastfeeding. I second that motion. Shot this gem like a month ago. This was day one of this gentlemen setting up shop in front of work, I am pleased to say he remains there to this day. I have been getting all sorts of useful street info from him. Who needs to...

Back In Black
The new Black Label catalog recently made its way online and it looks amazing. I haven’t been this stoked on the label since “Label Kills” dropped. 20 Years Of The Elephant 2 Series feat. some of my favorite artists- Todd Bratrud, Jeremy Fish, and Sheppard Fairey. I might have to pick up one or all of the Gino/Cardiel re-releases Gino’s Epicly Later’d...

Skate And Destroy
Antisocial got the new Skatebook in a couple days ago so I went and picked one up. For those unfamiliar with Skatebook, it’s basically the next level in skatemags. 300 page hardcover book with the stories behind some of the best moments in skateboarding. Aesthetically the book is extremely pleasing with crisp photos and a solid layout and content wise hands down the most interesting skate...

Cinemantic Greatness
Thankfully yesterday I finally had time to take in “Man On Wire“-A documentary following French Daredevil Philippe Petit’s life journey to walk on a tightrope between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Centre. The film follows the events of Petit and his commerades “bank heist-esque” operations leading up to the actual 1974 death defying event. Beautifully shot and...
